"Harriet Vanger, scion of one of Sweden's wealthiest families, disappeared over forty years ago. All these years later, her aged uncle continues to seek the truth. He hires Mikael Blomkvist, a crusading journalist recently trapped by a libel conviction, to investigate. He is aided by the pierced and tattooed punk prodigy Lisbeth Salander. Together they tap into a vein of unfathomable iniquity and astonishing corruption."
I'm going to start reading this book soon. Please read it as well and post back what you think. I think I'll change books in March. Happy Reading!

I am having a really hard time getting into this book. I don't know if it's because I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off or if I'm just not interested in the story. When (if) I ever finish, I'll be sure to write what I think.
I MIGHT read this book as well... my MIL read it and said that due to the unique names and cities it was tough to get into...
My grandma is the one who gave me the book. I saw it at her house at Christmas and I asked her if I could borrow it. She told me to just take it, but she didn't recommend it to me because the language was too harsh for her and she didn't think I should read it. :)
I'm sadly STILL not finished reading this book. I think I may give up and move on. I wasn't interested from the get-go and you know, sometimes that happens. Here's hoping the next book is better and can capture my attention a little better. :)
This is really an awesome book. I struggled during the first 60 or so pages to get into it, but so many people encouraged me to keep at it. The names are so different than American names and the complex relationships make it challenging. The genogram in the front of the book was very helpful and I referenced it several times to keep the characters straight. I think if you stick with it you'll enjoy not only this book but the whole series.
